Job summary:


  • This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the team as you will be working on a variety of Early Talent Schemes in Cabinet Office including high profile Talent Schemes like the Fast Stream (crossGovernment) and GROW (internal to CO)

Job description:


Responsibilities would include:


  • Inbox management
  • To be the first point of contact and respond to enquiries from the business for all Early Talent matters. As the individual develops in their role, there will be the opportunity to learn more about, and support, the wider Talent Team
  • Holistic management of internal early talent schemes this will involve managing and/or improving data records and will require excellent attention to detail
  • Managing the annual Fast Stream process, including
  • Supporting with CO Fast Stream Finances which includes crossreferencing data records to ensure we are being billed correctly and allocating costs to the correct teams who have received Fast Streamers. As the individual develops, they may take on more finance duties if/when required
  • Commissioning bids for the Direct Appointment Scheme (Fast Stream nearmiss scheme) and monitoring matches between Direct Appointees (EO and HEO) and business units. In addition, you will assist with the onboarding process for new joiners and maintain accurate data records to support with DAS finances
  • Assisting in producing contracts/loan agreements for Fast Streamers (noncentral schemes
  • HR, Economists, Social Research, Operational Research)
  • Supporting the CO Career Development Conversations Training; monitoring attendance of line managers in the Cabinet Office, promoting training sessions and producing data analysis to help inform future sessions. As the individual develops in the role, there will be an opportunity to support with presenting/designing these sessions
  • Monitoring and updating the mentoring brochure, continually adding new mentors and taking queries about the programme in the shared inbox.

Person specification:


Essential Criteria

  • Attention to detail is highly essential for this job. Proof of previous work or academic experience that attention to detail was applied is essential
  • Proof of experience of managing multiple projects at one time and managing multiple stakeholders' expectations
  • Excellent data management, including strong experience in using spreadsheets
  • Ability to deliver at pace and manage your own time when delivering multiple projects
  • Proof of experience in working with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) in order to achieve the desired results
  • Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience of building effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders (including seniors) to deliver organisational objectives
  • Ability to take ownership of a project but seek support when it's needed to ensure high quality outcomes

Desirable but not essential:


  • Any relevant HR qualification
  • Working or willing to work towards CIPD Lvl3 qualification this could be via an apprenticeship
  • Working experience in a high paced corporate environment
