Job summaryBand 3 Therapy Assistant Wheelchair Services
We are pleased to have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, forward thinking and dynamic individual to be part of our experienced team at Northumbria Wheelchair Service.
A driving licence, access to a car and business insurance is essential for this post (reasonable adjustments will be considered).
The work is varied and will involve working in a clinic environment, schools, home, care, and hospital settings, the role will also involve admin and stock control.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.
We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.

Experience
Essential
Experience of working as part of a team in a health or social care setting or similar.
Desirable
Previous experience working with and adults and/ or children with complex needs
Experience of working with equipment
Skills:
Essential
Good communication and organisational skills
Competent IT skills the post holder will use electronic records daily
Good verbal and written command of English language
Ability to plan and organise own and delegated workload and work under pressure in a busy environment in a professional manner
Knowledge
Essential
Understands the limits of the job role. Has the ability to recognise situations that require reporting and demonstrates the ability to escalate to a senior person when appropriate
Qualifications:
Essential
Level 3 qualification in health and social care or demonstration of equivalent qualification, skills or experience.
Other Essential
Car owner/Driver (reasonable adjustments will be considered)
