Harris Academy Morden is looking for a Teaching Behaviour Support Assistant to implement the SRC operational procedures, providing a full behaviour support and intervention service to students and staff to support the Academy's Behaviour and Discipline Policy.

Main Areas of Responsibility

The purpose of your role will be:

  • To effectively and efficiently implement the SRC operational procedures to provide a full behaviour support and intervention service to students and staff to support the Academy's Behaviour and Discipline Policy
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a mentor
  • To facilitate and encourage a support / intervention experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the Academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
  • Experience of working with young people in an education environment
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational and planning skills, including prioritising tasks
  • Ability to interest, encourage and motivate children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team; working effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities.
  • Computer literate must have good ICT skills including a working knowledge of MS packages
  • Ability to work using own initiative, exercising good judgement where unsupervised.
  • Flexibility of approach to work
  • Ability to assist in carrying out routine maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to contribute to the maintenance of accurate work records and inventories
