We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EBD Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive difference in the lives of our students.

As part of our supportive and collaborative school community, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support and guidance to students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone support and mentoring to students with EBD, implementing strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning activities and interventions, both indoors and outdoors, to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized behaviour management plans and social skills programs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building trust, rapport, and a sense of belonging within the school community.
  • Utilise the outdoor environment and working farm facilities to facilitate experiential learning opportunities and promote students' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to the ongoing assessment and review process.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) or similar needs is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with complex emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace outdoor learning and handson experiences as part of the school's ethos.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, teaching assistance, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
