What you'll do


The Product Consultant will have a full understanding of the Mercury product suite in order to consult with the customer to implement, following sales, the purchased product/s, so that the product/s are set up to align as close as possible with the customer's business processes and requirements within the boundaries of the product.

You'll report directly to the Product and Data Consultant Team Lead.

Full training on the Mercury product will be provided.


Who you are

  • To review the Statement of Work (SoW) from the Sales team and walkthrough with the customer the chosen options. Ensure the SoW is an accurate and thorough translation of customer requirements into a competitive sales option, and a realistic implementation option.
  • To act as a tour guide to take new customers on a journey through Mercury's product/s postsale and during the implementation lifecycle.
  • To run workshops to capture and document system/configuration requirements for the customer and advise on best practice.
  • To actively ask "why?", to ensure Mercury are delivering the optimal solution to our customers.
  • To own and improve the configuration workshop process, inline with feedback from the business, customer, and lessons learned feedback.
  • Where a customer's requirements are not entirely met by the standard product, and the customer is willing to pay for additional development or customisation, the Product Consultant will support the customer in documenting the problem statement.
  • To work with the Consultancy and Product teams, to review feasible options to resolve the problem statement. Management of expectations will be required regarding timescales and dependency on go live with short term workarounds being discussed.
  • To specify and advise the Product Deployment Consultants (PDC) of required standard configuration and customer needs. Ensure there is a clear audit trail of requirements gathering and decisions.
  • Ensuring that Mercury, as a business, understand a customer's processes, highlighting any potential changes that are required within the product/s, but also taking the opportunity to note value adds that the product/s would offer.
  • To stay informed of Mercury core product changes delivered with each version release, and work with the Product and Data Consultant Team Lead to update workshops and any associated documentation currently used on project, with these changes.
  • Where implementing a product which also requires data migration, to work closely with the Data Mapping Analyst to ensure that configuration and data migration are aligned.
  • To work closely with the Onboarding Customer Success Managers (OCSMs) and Customer Success Manager (CSM) to deliver outstanding customer go live experience with expert floor walking and golive support.

Desirable

  • Someone who has worked in the Recruitment industry either as as recruiter or a supplier of recruitment software/services.
  • A great technical understanding of Microsoft's Dynamics and the ability to consult on the best use of this technology.
  • Previous sales and/or implementation experience of software implementations within the recruitment, or a similar industry is beneficial.
