SEN Teaching Assistant


A friendly and supportive primary school located in Newham is searching for the perfect SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team This is a full-time, long-term position to begin February (Until July 2023).


As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working with pupils with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Behaviour and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health.

You will be guided and supported by the class teacher, with the same goal in mind - to create a warm, positive environment where the pupils can flourish

SEN Teaching Assistant - Job Description

  • Supporting children with a range of SEN (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia etc)
  • Using initiative to create new learning opportunities


  • Working across EYFS/KS1/KS

  • Working in small groups/ 1:1 setting to motivate pupil and make their learning exciting and accessible
  • Liaise with classroom teacher and SENCo to ensure pupil progress
  • Located in Newham
  • Long term, fulltime position starting January 2023
- £85 - £100 a day


SEN Teaching Assistant - Person Specification

Degree required

  • Good understanding of SEN is desirable
  • Experience with children with SEN (personal or professional)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Resilient and openmindedness
