Caring Services are looking for an experienced Support Worker to work for a company that provide accommodation and support for children who are leaving local authority care.

We are looking for a Support Worker to provide effective support to enable people to move towards independent living.
-
Salary - £20,600 per annum

:

-
38 hours per week. on rota between 8am & 8pm - sometimes a working or sleeping night is required.

Support Worker duties and responsibilities include

:


  • To develop positive relationships with young people
  • Support young people to fulfil their wishes day by day and achieve targets set out in their Service Plan/ Pathways Plan
  • Help young people work practically towards looking after and managing the property
  • Encourage young people to take part in things they enjoy
  • Understand and respect the relationships that are important to young people
  • Ensure the safety of young people, staff and the community
  • Encourage and support young people to be familiar with, and active in their community
  • Encourage and support young people to seek education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities
  • Work consistently with guidelines for support which ensure people are safe and supported when worried, anxious or angry
  • Actively listen and be responsive to young people's needs and aspirations
  • Facilitation and motivational skills
  • Practical knowledge and experience of independent living
  • Awareness and ability to risk assess the safety of people and places
  • Ability to understand and work with and use written guidelines
  • Commitment to equality of opportunity and programmes to address the issues faced by young people with different needs and abilities
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good mediation and negotiation skills
  • Positive team player
  • Willingness to travel across the wider Merseyside area and beyond as required
  • Ensure all properties are kept clean and presentable

  • Day shift
