Level 3 diploma for Residential Childcare/or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

We also wish to further our support workers skills by funding the NVQ level 3 in childcare if you do not have this.

This is a requirement following 6-month successful probation period and enables staff to progress.


This role is for a regulated activity so requires a full enhanced DBS check including the barring service for children and adults.


Salary:

Residential Support Worker - on target earnings of £26,670-£28,030 per annum

Hours:

My client offers a 39 hour a week full time contract with expectations of a minimum of 45 hours + on average 2 overnight sleep ins to achieve on Target Earnings.

Hours in excess of "OTE" are paid at time & quarter.

Holiday entitlement: 28 days per annum to include Bank Holidays


General Duties

  • Adhere to the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, organisational policies, and the good practice requirements of the home.
  • Organise and lead shifts in the home to ensure children are supported with their individual needs as outlined in their placement plan.
  • Ensure staff support children to participate in the routines of the home and encourage them to take part in the activities and support on offer.
  • Promote education and ensure children are supported to attend education and are helped with their homework, and attend education meetings where necessary. Where children are out of education to ensure they are supported with education activities and in working toward education outcomes.
  • Promote wellbeing in the home by ensuring that the environment is free from bullying, prejudice and a fair place to live.
  • Support staff in helping children deal with conflict and trauma by supporting and implementing any therapeutic plans that are in place for them.
  • Work cooperatively and proactively as part of a team supporting colleagues and the Manager.
