Primary Care is changing and our Patient Contact Advisors are key to supporting patients to get the care that they need - be that clinical assessment, help with managing their health, or signposting to other services.
Patient Contact Advisors are the first point of contact for our patients, either on the phone or in person.

We need to make sure every patient contact counts and that patients get the right help at the earliest opportunity.

We need passionate people focused individuals to help us deliver the best service for our patients.


Our Patient Contact Advisors play a crucial role in helping people to get the right support at the right time to help manage a wide range of need.

You will be the "go to" person who flues it all together.


You will be assertive but compassionate, signposting patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service to meet their need.


Discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes of a successful Patient Contact Advisor.
We have a position for 30 hours over five days available (rota basis covering either early shift or late shift)


Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the focal point of the practice and act as a liaison between patients, clinicians and other members of the team
  • Welcome all patients on arrival, ensuring all patients are checked in either manually or via the patient touch screen
  • Effective use of the practice appointment system, to include booking appointments and assisting with the maintaining/monitoring the appointment system, including processing of erequests
  • Answering incoming calls in a timely, professional, and efficient manner and assisting with any patient queries and concerns, responding promptly and positively
  • Signposting patients to the correct service
  • Effectively handle all queries that present at the practice including those from hospital clinicians, social services, etc. by problem solving, signposting, or escalation of matters, as appropriate
  • Handle any complex queries and challenging situations in a professional manner, ensuing any issues are resolved, where possible, at the first point of contact
  • Dealing with tasks that clinicians may assign to you in an effective and timely manner
  • Be responsible for opening the practice first thing in a morning and ensuring reception services are prepared for 8am clinics, ready for patients calling or presenting to the practice
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the correct procedure is followed for signing out/in site keys
