The group manufactures and distributes door systems to over 40 countries worldwide.

We design, manufacture, supply, install and service the UK's most comprehensive range of automated door systems and aluminium shop-fronts in our production facility outside Glasgow to a wide range of organisations and Customers throughout the UK, including many Blue Chip end-users, Main Contractors, Developers and specialist Façade & Fabricator providers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Powder Coater to join our team based at our head office in Blantyre.

Job description
The role working within a fast paced aluminium powder coating plant. The successful individual needs to be physically fit to undertake a manual role.

1) Responsible for loading and unloading metal to and from trolleys.

2) Loading the pre-treatment machine.

3) Hanging metal on jigs.

4) Powder coating aluminium.

5) Loading and unloading the box oven.

7) Check the quality of all parts.

8) Strong awareness health & safety procedures such as manual handling.

9) rOS (record Operating System) will be an important part of the role.

At the heart of this system is to improve performance, efficiency and quality using tools such as standard work, 5s and Kaizen.

10) Contribute to ISO Business Management system.

Essential criteria
1) Must have previous experience working as a powder coater within a fast paced flow production environment. Minimum of 2 years experience in aluminum powder coating.

2) Good team player with the ability to work on own initiative when required.

3) Excellent attention to detail with high quality standards.

4) Reliable and hardworking 'can do' approach.

5) Enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

6) Good verbal/written communication skills, able to build strong working relationships.

7) Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitude.

Desirable criteria
1) Computer literate with Microsoft Office packages.

2) Experience/Knowledge of the Aluminum door industry.

Additional information
Hours: 39 hours per week

(Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday 07:30 to 15:00)

Holidays: 33 days

Contract:
Permanent after 6 month probationary period
