About the Role:


Queens Park Group Surgery
has a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join the practice and support the nursing team, on a full-time or part-time basis
.



  • Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
  • Blood pressure checks
  • New patient checks
  • NHS health checks
  • ECGs
  • Dressings / wound care
  • Blood glucose checks
  • Blood cholesterol checks
  • Urine dipstick checks
  • Swabs skin, wound, ear, nose (not HVS or chlamydia)
  • Some vaccinations e.g. flu
  • Chaperone when needed
  • Assisting with minor operations
  • Assisting with family planning clinic and postnatal clinics
  • Assisting with baby immunisations
  • Diabetic foot checks
  • Updating clinical system data entry and clinical coding
  • The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
If you are a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant looking for a fresh and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you:

  • Ideally possessing a healthcare qualification
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post
  • Ideally with experience within primary care or another healthcare setting
  • Excellent patientfacing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practical IT skills preferably in a clinical setting
  • Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
