The Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) and Collateral Management Group (CMG) desks are part of the Equity Finance Business within the Corporate and Investment Bank.

As a desk they undertake various trade structures ranging from short coverage, financing, conduit lending and the facilitation of longer-term non-standard structured deals.

To support this they borrow stock from counterparties based globally and flow this stock through multiple legal entities onto the relevant risk entity.


Job responsibilities:


  • Provide close support to the trading desk, understanding the various trade flows and look at continuous ways to improve operational support
  • Timely and accurate execution of trade bookings, across recalls, Corporate Actions, returns and various inceptions and amends in trades lifecycle
  • Governance and oversight of the Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) fail activity, and constantly performing root cause analysis with support teams to better improve the fail landscape
  • Understand the Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) regulatory environment and perform trade bookings to remain compliant
  • Oversight and management of the PB rehypothecations and short cover processes
  • Ensure all controls are diligently performed and signed off on a timely basis.
  • Exercise initiative and judgement to resolve problems within a range of established policies and procedures, then seeking advise if required on more complex issues

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:


  • Understand the Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) product and all the relevant trading structures and flows
  • Indepth knowledge and experience of working with front to back Operations process (including the key elements such as confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams
  • Good manager of stakeholders
  • Organised and able to prioritise, able to successfully manage that tradeoff between speed of execution and attention to detail
  • Possess strong analytical and numerical skills with s trong problem solving, control, and project management experience
  • Strong technical skills, especially in Excel (experience of Alteryx)
