Job Overview
Our Events coordinator will maximize revenue opportunities by driving sales and increasing conversions. They will also work with potential guests in order to deliver an exceptional experience. Here at The Lion we have 3 individual function rooms available for parties, wedding and events

Hours are Full Time. 2 full days working on events and 3 days on floor as part of our food & beverage team

Previous events coordination experience or similar qualification is highly desired


What will I be doing?

  • Delivering prompt and efficient management of all weddings and special event enquiries, queries, and requests
  • Manage the sales process from the initial enquiry through to the final appointment
  • Welcome and build a relationship with every potential wedding couple or event guest. Aiming to convert enquiries into sales
  • Manage a flexible appointment diary including in the evenings and at weekends
  • Prepare bespoke quotations for weddings and events
  • Be present on the wedding day or event day, ensuring that every detail is correct
  • Maximize the revenue and profit contribution for all function rooms
  • Ensure that payments and accounts are paid in accordance with the Terms and Conditions
  • Drive wedding and event sales plans in conjunction with the management team to support the achievement of set financial targets
  • Attend open days, wedding fairs and sales exhibitions to build up a preferred supplier list
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, prices and policies as well as knowledge of the local area
  • Use correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash
  • Perform given tasks within an acceptable time frame
  • Keep all storerooms clean and tidy
  • Complying with all current legislation with regards to health and safety and fire.
  • Report all maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas
