Description
The post of Fundraiser (Community & Events) is an important link between the hospital charity and the local community.

The post holder will be responsible for managing volunteer community fundraisers and charity led events and being an active member of the charity team in securing financial support from these areas of fundraising.


  • Work to design, deliver and evaluate a community fundraising programme raising gifts that range from a minimum of £250 £5k.
  • Be the key liaison and account manage community fundraisers
  • Be the first point of contact for all community fundraising enquiries
  • Cultivate & develop relationships with local organisations, companies, community based groups, including faith groups and schools
  • Organise and attend cheque presentations and photo opportunities with fundraisers and hospital staff both on and off site
  • Work to design, deliver and evaluate a community events fundraising programme in partnership with the wider charity team
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support with events.
  • Contribute to annual budgets, targets and plans
  • Manage the Collection Box Scheme
  • Coordinate and manage raffles and secure prizes when needed
  • Attend and assist at charity events as directed by the Head of Fundraising and Communications
  • Work with the charity communications team to ensure the work of community fundraisers is communicated accurately and appropriately.

Community fundraising

  • Work to design, deliver and evaluate a community fundraising programme raising gifts that range from a minimum of £250 £5k.
  • Be the key liaison and account manage community fundraisers
, providing them with all the fundraising support they require, including provision of fundraising materials, attending events and providing advice and guidance.

  • Be the first point of contact for all community fundraising enquiries
and manage these empathically and professionally with the understanding that initial queries may involve volunteers sharing sensitive information around the reasons for wanting to fundraise.

  • Cultivate & develop relationships with local organisations, companies, community based groups, including faith groups and schools
and motivate them through compelling presentations to generate support for the charity.

  • Organise and attend cheque presentations and photo opportunities with fundraisers and hospital staff both on and off site
. This includes giving motivating presentations and talks to both community groups and corporate organisations.

  • Be responsible for proactively encouraging hospital staff to support the charity through fundraising for their individual wards and departments.
Community event fundraising

  • Work to design, deliver and evaluate a community events fundraising programme in partnership with the wider charity team
, which maximizes the potential of community groups, associations and clubs.

  • Ensure that all events are costed, wellplanned, marketed and generate income for the charity.
  • Work with external companies and suppliers with coordinating and organising events where necessary.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support with events.
  • Ensure that all events comply with the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Pra
