Description

  • Develop site/department specific prioritised people plan for the Business, which aligns with the wider People Plan and drives improved performance, offsets risk and maximises profit.
  • To build strong and sustained stakeholder relationships (GM, Director of and senior team) to enable long term people strategy delivery.


Work with site/department leadership teams, using management information and undertaking analysis to inform decision-making in support of increased business profitability and efficiency.


  • Partner the site/department leadership team to manage resourcing and talent processes cost effectively, ensuring they are fit for purpose now and for the future and deliver required outcomes
  • Guide managers in the induction of new starters, making sure that delivery is in line with the people culture and provide feedback to make continual improvements
  • Partner the GM/Director of/Head of Dept to conduct regular talent and succession planning sessions to enable fill of key positions, both short and long term.
- resolution of issues/improvements and optimum working.

  • Support & coach managers in understanding and complying with ER policies and practices; providing challenge and advice to managers on the resolution of ER issues
  • Proactively identify opportunities to work collaboratively with union representatives and
employee representatives to resolve issues and to create a positive and productive ER culture.


Support and ensure National/Local Employee Voice forums happen in line with the company expectation and provide opportunities for improvement, best practice and address key issues.


  • To deliver plans and manage projects associated with driving improvements spanning all core areas within the HR domain.
  • To track, analyse and review core trend data (both business and HR related) to identify both risks and opportunities to the business to drive appropriate recommendations and solutions.
  • To work with the Head of HR, acting as change agent to ensure the successful launch and integration of the broader and more extensive strategic projects including Service Excellence and other business change programmes.
  • To work closely with Head of HR and other colleagues to ensure alignment with the broader context of Best in Class HR delivery and to ensure evolvement of HR processes in line with long term business vision
  • To lead business change across sites/departments to ensure continual improvement of our service proposition.

Profile

  • Experience of working across the whole employee life cycle (recruitment, development, performance management, motivation, reward and retention and exit management)
  • Experience of handling difficult and sensitive redundancy, discipline, capability and grievance casework
  • Demonstrate effective facilitation skills for individual and group work
  • Demonstrate continuous professional development both internally and externally
  • MCIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Robust and capable commercially and can evidence HR plans, approaches and their commercial/financial impacts.
  • Has managed sizeable HR projects within a medium sized workforce ie 250 heads upwards, and across a range of disciplines and HR core areas.
  • At ease with contributing to, challenging and driving solutions with Directors and Senior Managers.
  • Robust and knowledgeable in all core HR disciplines and with a collaborative and solutionsbased approach.
  • Positive, cando, flexible and hard working style (24/7 operation), willing to travel at all times, flexible.
  • Able to plan and manage a complex workload with multiple priorities and multiple stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills in writing, phone and face to face. Strong, clear, persuasive and confident in presenting to small groups.
  • HR champion interested in business and HR excellence and strives for high standards now and with a vision to the future.
