We are currently recruiting for a temporary Events officer for a centrally based Oxford University Department, starting asap on a full-time basis.


Duties:


  • Managing the departmental programme of physical, virtual and hybrid events and programmes, including organisation, delivery and followup, ensuring smoothrunning operations throughout, a highquality attendee and organiser experience from entry to exit and a polished, professional presentation of the department.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of digital communication platforms (including Zoom and Microsoft Teams), and their associated AV requirements for successful delivery.
  • Responsible for departmental digital platform accounts (such as Zoom and Youtube) including codes of practice, subscription and user access, system training, and ensuring department is compliant on platform and University policy and UK legislation for safety, GDPR, and data security requirements.
  • Arranging venues, catering, travel, accommodation and any other relevant requirements, in and outside Oxford;
  • Creation and running of digital marketing campaigns for events, including producing marketing materials, monitoring of campaign effectiveness including source tracking, production of pre
- and post-event summaries and reports, and distribution of follow up materials and messages


The Temporary Staffing Service supports University of Oxford departments and affiliated colleges with the recruitment of temporary admin and clerical staff.

  • Person specification

Essential Criteria:


  • Experience of being responsible for the organisation of small
- and large-scale events both physically and virtually (e.g. conferences/seminars, education programmes, lectures);

  • Experience of running virtual events in an international context, and strong familiarity with Zoom, Teams and other similar platforms;
  • The ability to record, edit, produce and publish videos of events to an appropriate standard so that these can be shared with and viewed by the public;
  • Experience running digital marketing campaigns for events, including reporting and post event follow ups.
  • Experience with and creation of materials using Photoshop, video editing programmes (Premier Pro, Openshot editor or equivalent), YouTube studio and digital marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp and Adestra)
  • Knowledge and experience using AV equipment such as microphones, webcams and digital screens
