Medical Secretary
Farnham Dene Medical Practice are looking for a part-time Medical Secretary to work within their admin team.

You will need to be articulate, work well within a busy team and use your initiative. You will also need to be efficient, flexible and professional, with good attention to detail.

We are looking for someone who can work Monday to Friday at both of our Practice sites.

You will be required to cover shifts for sickness and annual leave.


Main purpose of post:

To provide secretarial and administrative support to the practice management team, doctors and other clinicians within the practice.


Responsibilities:


  • Working as part of a team to provide an efficient audio typing service for GP's and clinicians as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, and patient referrals in an accurate and quality manner.
  • To open and distribute post.
  • Setting up and booking eReferrals.
  • To action admin related tasks received into the secretarial team.
  • To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
  • To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
  • Filing records.

About us


Farnham Dene Medical Practice is composed of six GP partners, five part-time salaried GP's, Advanced Paramedic Practioner, Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, a comprehensive nursing team and administrative support team providing primary care services to a registered population of approximately 13,500 patients across Farnham and surrounding villages, and Aldershot.


Our reception team is made up of 11 receptionists and a Team Leader and they work across our two sites - in central Farnham and the Lower Bourne area of Farnham.


Qualifications:

Essential - Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, functional Mathematics and English

Desirable - GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)


Experience:

Essential - Experience of administrative duties

Desirable - Experience of working with the general public, experience of working in a healthcare setting
