With roots going back to 1882 within the Teesside area, Harrison Packaging are a leading provider of innovative and quality cartons, supplying to some of the UK's well-known brands such as those within the food, beverage, healthcare and household sectors.
Role Summary:
To manufacture Printed Folded Cartons to the required Glued specification, in line with business and customer objectives.
The Gluing Operator is responsible for making ready and running the Gluing Machines in a safe manner, in line with the customer specification and to the required production schedules set.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring all safe systems of work and standard operating procedures are always adhered to in Health & Safety, Production and Quality, as set out by the company.
Set up & run Folding Gluing machines, to an agreed customer specification, monitoring quality always, ensuring any defect is highlighted.
Maximise efficiencies and maintain optimum speeds for the machine, while ensuring the Health & Safety of the assistants is not compromised.
Complete all related paperwork and input data accurately.
Carry out maintenance and ensure the machines are kept in a good mechanical working order, reporting any issues to management.
Identify areas of improvements and work in a proactive manner.
Train and develop trainees and assistants within the department.
Any other duties that can be reasonably expected of the role.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Good knowledge & experience of carton construction, and operating Folding Gluing machines, including glue detection and code reader QA systems.
Self-motivated, with the ability to think individually with well-reasoned decision-making qualities.
Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with an excellent team working ethic as working well with others in a small team is a regular part of the role
Excellent attention to detail and willingness to challenge.
Ability to problem solve & mechanical aptitude
Physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity
Has a strong belief in Harrison values, culture and vision and works with the interest of the company and its people at heart, whilst understands the need to follow Harrison procedures

Full-time, Permanent
Pay:
£12.12-£14.49 per hour
Expected hours:
No less than 37.5 per week
