Description
The Reset Room provides a higher order sanction in the school's Behaviour for Learning policy.

It isolates students for the school day including breaks and lunch times and enables them to continue with their academic studies uninterrupted.

By their very nature many of the students can display anti-social behaviour.

The Reset Room staff need resilience, presence, patience, understanding, authority and flexibility in order to ensure the smooth running of the system.

In addition the Reset Room staff also co-ordinate the other key Behaviour for Learning sanctions, liaising with parents/ carers, staff, other schools and the school's Senior Leadership team as appropriate and helps put in to practice schools' Behaviour for Learning policy.

Supervise students who have been referred to the Reset Room from within the school or by other schools and who are undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the school's policy so that teaching and learning continues.

Manage the behaviour of students whilst they are in the Reset Room in line with the school's Behaviour for Learning policy and practice and whilst the students are undertaking their work ensure a constructive environment.

To support the learning of students in the Reset Room by collecting work from staff, responding to questions from students about the work set, suggesting strategies for completion and returning the completed work to the relevant member of staff.

Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school's policies and procedures to ensure that the student / employee safety is assured.

Communicate student progress in the seclusion room with teachers/key stages if necessary and ensure that all Behaviour for Learning or safeguarding concerns are recorded electronically on CPOMS.

Carry out the day to day operational tasks using the systems inplace in the rest room by ensuring that parents/carers are informed that their child has been referred into the reset room,with all necessary details included. Daily reset lists published to key staff members and teams and appropriate follow up of individual students where necessary.

Provide half termly reports to the school's Senior Leadership Team and liaise with the Key Stage Teams about repeat offenders.

Help put into practice the school's Behaviour for Learning policy.

Supervise and work with students who have been sent to the reset room to self regulate enabling these students to return to their scheduled lessons.We are looking to appoint a Reset Room Mentor to work with students who have been placed in temporary isolation. You will report to and work closely with the Reset Room Manager.

The post will begin on 1stSeptember 2023.

The post will be permanent, term time only from 8.00am - 4.00pm for 5 days each week, term time only (38 weeks).

The pro rata salary is £18,723 - £20,133 (grade 5).
