Ornua is actively seeking a Head of Cheese Procurement to join our finance department as we continue our growth trajectory.

The Head of Cheese Procurement will play a key role in developing and maintaining exceptional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, responsible for driving supplier performance & accountable for stock management, developing supplier relationships & proactively informing customers with "dairy sector knowledge"; OFUK's dairy/ cheese industry facing figurehead.

Why This Role Is Valuable:


The Head of Cheese Procurement will; Be key point of contact & leads relationship with OII & OIE ensuring that appropriate ways of working are in place, so that Ornua Foods UK has a consistent supply of cheese, in line with monthly demand review, & Ornua Ingredients Ireland (OII) / Ornua Ingredients Europe are represented in UK in line with Group strategy.

Use extensive industry knowledge to identify future opportunities and risks and implement plans to maximise or mitigate as appropriate.

Build on excellent senior level relationships with counterparts in major UK retailer customers to support their respective agriculture, dairy & cheese agendas.

Communicate Ornua's agricultural plans/ agenda, playing a key role in supporting our sustainability strategy. Responsible for establishing OFUK as benchmark supplier for "industry" knowledge & thought leadership.

Lead the Cheese Procurement team to deliver excellent stock management of high-quality product that meets the needs of OFUK and their customers.

Enable "conversion & operational excellence" in order to optimise throughput, capacity & profitability.

Develop and support the Cheese Procurement team so that they can deliver quality outcomes for the business and ensure robust succession plans are in place.

Encourage inclusive & collaborative ways of working that supports team-working outside of their functional silo. Support Operations on cheese quality and functionality driving improvements where necessary.


What You Bring To The Role:
Extensive commercial leadership experience & intimate knowledge of UK grocery sector. Detailed understanding of the cheese supply chain. Broad network of senior level contacts within the UK grocery sector & cheese industry. Understanding of cheese production, grading & inventory management.
Strong financial acumen and an ability to cut through complex numerical data.
A proven track record of successful influencing and negotiation techniques.
