We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Urology Consultant to join a Trust in Northern Ireland.


As a Urology Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert medical care and leadership in the field of urology.

You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of urological conditions, performing surgeries, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Your clinical expertise, coupled with your strong communication and leadership skills, will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of urology services within our hospital/trust.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for urological conditions.
  • Perform urological surgeries, both elective and emergency procedures, adhering to best practice guidelines and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in radiology, oncology, pathology, and other relevant departments to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior medical staff, contributing to their professional development and training.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and research activities to contribute to the advancement of urological knowledge and practice.
  • Engage in clinical governance, ensuring patient safety, adherence to protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) and completion of specialty training in Urology.
  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Urology.
  • At least two years of experience as a Urology Consultant, demonstrating proficiency in urological surgeries and patient management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and contribution to clinical research.
