Description

Our client is a well-established family run business located in Hastings, East Sussex manufacturing traditional handmade bricks and specials.

You will mainly work independently at your own workstation where you will take clots of clay from a passing conveyor belt to which is then rolled in sand to then be hand thrown into a traditional wooden mould for the clay to take shape.

This is then carefully tapped corner to corner to where the brick is then stacked onto a tray and placed onto a stillage for drying.

Be reliable and have a good work ethic.

Due to the location of the vacancy you must be able to make travel arrangements to and from work as well as excellent timekeeping.

Willing to work additional hours where and when necessary, usually averaging 40-50 hours per week, Monday to Friday including Saturdays when required.

Be flexible to work additional days if required.

We in return offer a permanent 40 hour contract (after a probationary period) working a minimum of Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4pm and free onsite car parking.

Hourly rate £11.25 per hour with an additional bonus of £2.50 per hour based on attendance and quality of work / production.

Additional weekly production bonus is also offered on top of the above rates.
