The Opportunity


We are currently hiring a Senior Hardware Asset Officer to join the Hardware Asset Management Team (HAM) in the Digital Customer Services directorate at the Parliamentary Digital Service.

This is a part time role and we are looking for someone to work for 3 days a week (Monday - Wednesday).


In this role, you will ensure that Parliament's IT hardware assets allocated by the team are appropriately controlled and managed and provide accurate and reliable information about those assets when and where required.

You will be responsible for maintaining suitable stock levels to meet fluctuating demand.

The Hardware Asset Management Team (HAM) operates in a fast-paced environment therefore focus and attention to detail are key.

You will be working with the other Senior HAM Officers to ensure the team's targets are met, as well as providing support and being a point of escalation to ensure the smooth running of the team.

The post will be required to help unload deliveries at least twice a week.


This is an excellent opportunity to either expand your experience in asset management or transfer your excellent organisational and customer service skills into IT hardware and contribute to the success of this complex and customer-centric team.


What You Need
- excellent knowledge and experience of Hardware Asset Management processes and procedures in a complex environment with multiple budgets and processes, and ability to ensure they are followed correctly.
- excellent attention to detail. Able to accurately record complex data in large data sets, produce reports and spot mistakes. Use of Microsoft productivity tools on a day-to-day basis including Excel to an intermediate level (or have the aptitude to learn to this level).
- ability to work collaboratively across a range of teams ensuring the best outcome for the customer, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- a strong understanding of financial principles, making purchases and maintaining stock levels, with experience in dealing with purchase orders and invoices.
- ability to supervise, motivate, answer queries and lead staff in a fast-paced environment working calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK


About The Team
The Hardware Asset Management Team (HAM) is part of the Provisioning Team in the Parliamentary Digital Service.

The Provisioning Team is responsible for the procurement and distribution of Hardware and Software to Members, their staff as well as Administration Staff across both Houses of Parliament.

The HAM team focus on the procurement of hardware and its allocation to Members of both Houses and the Administration both at Westminster and in remote locations.
