We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant position with a leading technology provider based in Sheffield. This is a 12-month contract role to cover maternity leave with the potential to gain a permanent role.

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial operations, planning, utilising working capital, contributing to capital investment decisions, and controlling cashflows.

The role will produce timely and accurate monthly managementaccounts, manage final accounts and the general ledger, and provide detailed management reports.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage financial operations, planning, and utilization of working capital
  • Support capital investment decisions and control cashflows
  • Manage and maintain budget development, budgetary control, financial forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Produce timely, accurate, and relevant monthly management accounts with commentary within agreed timescales
  • Manage and maintain final accounts, the general ledger, and financial reporting within agreed timescales
  • Produce and provide detailed management reports, identify possible improvements to the systems, and improve the quality and timeliness of management information
  • Liaise with budget holders monthly to understand key variances against budget and forecasts
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the production of budgets and revised forecasts
  • Analyze variances and conduct regular checks to ensure adequate control frameworks are in place to reduce and where possible eliminate any financial risks
  • Assist with improving internal controls within the Finance function

Requirements:


  • Educated to degree level or can demonstrate equivalent working experience
  • Membership in a professional body (Studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Ability to develop friendly, positive, and supportive relationships with external and internal clients, and provide them with excellent service
  • Proven ability to highlight trends and detect financial inconsistencies when analyzing and summarizing detailed financial and nonfinancial information
  • Ability to interpret and analyze business and technical reports in addition to writing and presenting information to senior stakeholders

The companyoffers a hybrid working model, with 2-3 days in the office and the remaining days working from home.

They are currently based near Meadow Hall but will be moving to a new location near the Peace Garden in Sheffield City Centre.
