Description

We are currently seeking a Packing / Case making Technician for our client based in London, who specialise in the storage, transport and installation of art.

As the Packing / Case making Technician, you will be working closely with other technicians, wrapping and packing fragile art objects after intensive training, safely handling all artwork, and utilising the lifting equipment suitable to each task.

You will also be assessing and recording the condition of all artworks, and ensuring all operational paperwork is complete.

Other duties of the Packing / Case making Technician:

Ensure all artwork is handled with care
Preparing packing systems that can help reduce the risk of damage to artwork
Liaising with coordinators and job planners on a daily basis
Keep the workshop environment safe and organised
Ensuring supervisors are kept updated on stock levels
Correctly operating machinery within the workshop
Dealing with the preparation of packing systems, linings and wraps
Assist colleagues, suppliers and customers with resolving any issues regarding security

The successful Packing / Case making Technician will ideally have experience working in the industry, and have a good understanding of how to properly handle fragile items.

Having excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all level of the public are good attributes for this role.
