OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
- To design, review and develop module material in line with contemporary evidence / data and professional body requirements, where applicable.
- To deliver a module to the expectations of the Module Leader, Head of School, students and external bodies.
- To lead the module delivery team, providing guidance and support.
- To deliver module/s when needed outside of the allocated module/s.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To design, review and develop module material in line with contemporary evidence / data and professional body requirements, where applicable.
- Deliver lectures and tutorials in line with the prepared module plan, with reference to module documentation and module contact hours.
- To engage students in a dynamic, interactive and stimulating learning experience
- Evaluate and mark student submissions, both formative and summative.
- To conduct robust standardisation of the module(s).
- To undertake comprehensive moderation of allocated modules.
- To provide valid, reliable and informative feedback and feedforward to students following assessment of knowledge, skills and understanding, within required deadlines.
- Carry out administrative tasks related to the module and wider Faculty activities.
- Carry out scholarly activity relevant to the module including but not restricted to, all key texts, associated articles and case studies.
- Fulfil the role of Personal Development Tutor for cohorts of students.
- Participate in Welcome Week as required, including preparation and delivery.
- Attend relevant School and faculty meetings as required.
- Attend graduation ceremonies.
- Participate in academic admissions interviews as required.
- Participate in employability sessions as required.
- Undertake appropriate professional development activities and provide evidence of scholarly activity
- Any other reasonable activity as decided by the Head of School and wider Faculty.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Module metrics: these include, but are not limited to; pass rates, average marks, student attendance, student satisfaction rates.
- PDT outcomes.
- Quality concerns relating to module delivery and assessment
- Administrative concerns relating to module delivery and assessment
- Participation in developmental initiatives
- Scholarly activity
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Degree and/or appropriate professional qualifications.
DESIRABLE
- Higher degree and appropriate professional qualifications.
- Fellowship of HE Academy
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in delivering education, training or staff development.
DESIRABLE
- Practical experience in chosen specialism
- Teaching experience
- Assessment experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
ESSENTIAL
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage these within competing demands
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to think innovatively
- Ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for your specialist area and the ability to pass this passion on to your students and peers.
- Passion to support students through a pastoral or advisory role

- Good general IT and administrative skills
- The capability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve both your own goals and the aims of your departments.

Job Types:

Salary:
£42,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
