Description

The Hospice has a great opportunity for a Part-Time Furniture, Warehouse and Logistics Operative to assist with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager with the day to day running of the Warehouse and Furniture Showroom.


The main purpose is to support the Hospice in maximising income through furniture sales at the Furniture showroom so we can continue to provide invaluable end-of-life care and support to our patients and their families.


The role offers a variety of duties within multi Hospice locations and also includes driving across the Bury and surrounding areas.


Some of these duties include:

  • To plan and organise tasks including; visual merchandising, sorting, pricing, ticketing and rotation of merchandise.
  • To fully comply with Hospice cash handling procedures including daily till reconciliation, banking and timely reporting and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Provide excellent customer service and care to customers over the phone and also facetoface
  • Effectively and economically planning the collection and delivery of stock
  • Safely moving various sized stock, some of which might be large and heavy
  • Ensuring the recording the necessary Gift Aid information from donors to maximise Gift Aid return
  • Guiding and working alongside volunteers
  • Relevant cash handling duties including processing sales and banking cash
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times


Given the requirements for the role, you be required to have a full, clear driving licence and the ability to drive a van.

You will also have to be aged 25 years or old to meet the requirements of the Hospice's driving related insurances.

Given the physical demands of the post, you will also be required to carry and manoeuvre heavy and cumbersome objects.

Confidentiality and health and safety awareness are also key requirements for being successful within the role.
