Would you like to join the RSC Marketing team as a Marketing Officer? In this exciting role, you will work alongside the Marketing Manager (Learning and Membership), to support and develop a varied programme of marketing activity that promotes andshowcases theRSC's Learning and National Partnershipswork and our Membership scheme.

Our Learning and National Partnerships department work with children, young people, teachers, schools and universities to help everyone find their voice through Shakespeare.

To promote both of these areas of our work, we are looking for a Marketing Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract to supportand implement a broad programme of marketing activity to contribute to the achievement of the RSC's strategic plans.

In this role you will also provide some more general support to the Marketing Department, work collaboratively with our other Marketing Officersand, more widely, with staff across the organisation.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager (Learning and Membership) some of the main activities and responsibilities include (see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Supporting the Marketing Manager (Learning and Membership) to deliver marketing campaigns for the RSC Learning and National Partnerships work as well as the RSC's Membership scheme
  • Implementing and monitoring campaigns to maximise return on investment
  • Generating online/offlinemarketing materials in liaison with all relevant departments, including copy and image generation, briefing, proofing and distribution
  • Arranging and attending photo shoots to capture images of Learning and National Partnerships activity
  • Developing content for social media channels relevant to education and learning audiences
  • Monitoring and reporting on campaign effectiveness
  • Working cross departmentally with Digital Media, Visual Communications, Video Unit and Communications departments to inform, develop and communicate marketing plans
  • Helping to promote our collaborations with external partners
  • Managing project budgets
To be suitable for this role, you must have:

  • Excellent copywriting, presentation, and communication skills
  • The ability to tell simple, clear, and compelling stories
  • Experience working as part of a marketing team
  • The ability to use a range of marketing tools, both offline and online
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Good relationship management skills
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems to create campaigns


You will be part of a small, busy team that has a huge impact through the work that they produce; this role covers a broad range of work which will give the post holder the opportunity to be involved and exposed to many aspects of marketing.

An interestin live arts, entertainment and/or education and learning are helpful for this role.


This opportunity is offered as a full time, 12 month fixed term contract, based in the RSC's offices in Stratford-upon-Avon, the working hours are Monday to Friday 10am-6pm, with some evening and weekend working required.

The RSC has a commitment to supportingflexible working arrangements, which can include regular remote working in a hybrid way or working hours to suit your needs, although a level of attendance in the office each week is expected.
