The Company
Our client is a specialist manufacturing company. Due to an exciting period of expansion and investment they now have a new position for a Calibration Engineer.
The Role
- Calibration of onsite equipment. (Mechanical and Electronic).
- Tool management of field service equipment, ensuring engineers are supplied with all necessary equipment, with a valid calibration.
- Monitoring of master calibration list and tool management database.
- Ensure compliance with internal and corporate calibration standards.
- Ensure that all calibration requirements are planned and completed on time.
- Flexible approach to ensure all calibration requirements are carried out in line with departmental targets.
- Ensure that third party calibration services are monitored for performance and quality.
- Ensure all internal calibration records are complete and up to date.
- Ensure third party records are kept up to date and valid.
- Authorisation of calibration certificates.
- Acceptance of thirdparty certificates.
- Proactive approach to improving both efficiency and safety of working practices.
- Understand the site and laboratory COSHH and H and S requirements.
- Understand and adhere to risk assessments and calibration procedures.
- Correct handling of all calibration equipment to ensure true and accurate calibration results.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the calibration lab.
- Safe handling of HP/LP compressed air.
The Person
- HNC/HND Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background. Prior calibration lab experience is desirable.
- Some Electronics knowledge would be an advantage.
- Good communications skills.
- High emphasis on quality.
- Customer focus with a positive and proactive attitude towards solving problems.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external customers.
- Confident and able to work effectively under own initiative and as part of a team.
