Senior Intraday Trader

Here's what you'll be doing
Welcome to the Short Term Trading team within E.ON Energy Markets' Trading & Origination function.

Our core mission is to profitably trade E.ON's power and gas requirements in short term commodity markets while strategically monetizing portfolio flexibility from both customers and assets.

Responsibilities

Work (50% job share) as part of a 24/7 shift team trading and dispatching our large gas and power positions in short term markets for E.ON's integrated portfolio of customers and assets.
Generate clearly measurable financial value through your trading activity.
Understand and market conditions and E.ON's portfolio positions to drive profitable trading decisions against a clear P&L target
Trade power and gas contracts in the via exchanges and with the ESO
Form key partnerships with the Spot/Prompt and Forward Trading Teams to profitably manage the portfolio positions
Monetise embedded flexibility within the portfolio, whether from E.ON's or customers' assets, including battery storage and Demand Side Response
Ensure scheduling and dispatch is correctly carried out
Steer and develop new tools and approaches to enhance trading activity.

What we need from you

Essential

Highly numerate with strong reasoning skills
A proven commercial focus with the drive to continually learn and improve
Demonstrable understanding of the traded energy markets
Advanced Excel skills
Flexible teamcentred approach
Willingness to work in 24/7 shift rotation
Graduate calibre
Strong communication skills
Understanding of flexibility markets including battery storage

Desirable

Coding ability in VBA, Python or similar
