  • Our Operations team is responsible for implementing the vehicle build plan as part of our production process to build and assemble completed vehicles, ensuring efficient use of all available resources and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Your Dream Role

  • Put simply, you will be responsible for managing a team of vehicle builders to meet output requirements, quality expectations and cost targets.
  • You will assist and support your team by ensuring they understand the specifications for all contracts, provide engineering or material support where required, and complete the work allocated in line with production plan.
  • Demonstrate close control of executing production plan, identifying any concerns, and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Allocate appropriate work packages to your team ensuring they adhere to standard operating procedures and in line with production targets. As part of this you will be responsible for being aware of and ensuring correct health and safety practices are carried out.
  • You will be accountable for the KPI's within your area of responsibility which may include ontime delivery, waste, quality, cost of production as a minimum.
  • You will have direct line management of your team including performance and absence management, resolving daytoday issues.
  • Monitor standard of work and provide support or training where required.
  • Support and contribute as required to the achievement of ISO9001 standard.
  • Communicate regularly with your team to deliver key messages as well as motivating employees.
  • You will build strong relationships with your peers and other departments to ensure vehicles are completed in line with production plan.

About You:


  • You will have demonstrable experience in a similar role as defined in this advert where you have been a successful leader in a fastpaced manufacturing, engineering, or similar industry. Experience in a unionised environment would be advantageous.
  • You will have experience of leading a team and strong people management skills with a proactive approach to change management.
  • Alongside your core leadership skills, you can demonstrate excellent planning, organisation and time management.
  • You will be an excellent motivator of people and will have the ability to manage performance through leadership and coaching skills.
  • Have a good understanding of requirements such as ISO9001/ISO14001, process management, health and safety, quality, and any other legislative requirements.
  • You can demonstrate knowledge of lean manufacturing and/or operational excellence.
  • By working closely with support departments, you will have the ability to meet challenging targets in line with business requirements.
  • Finally, you will be IT literate, being comfortable with all Microsoft packages.
