About the role:

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research post funded by Cancer Research UK. The project will focus to developing an analytical method to identify aldehyde cancer biomarkers using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

The work will involve identifying novel aldehyde-selective scavenging small molecules and then profiling their applicability for GC/MS-based aldehyde detection in biological samples.


About you:
Applicants should possess, or be very close to obtaining, a doctorate in Chemistry or another related field.

They should also have previous experience at doctoral or postdoctoral level with mass spectrometry methods (preferably GC/MS), while an interest in biologically relevant chemistry and human tissue culture is preferable.


Additional information:

We anticipate that interviews will be held late March 2023.
