Description

We are looking for an organised and diligent person, or persons who would like to make a difference to patient care, ensure that patients are treated in a timely manner and provide administrative support to an efficient TIA Service across BNSSG.


An exciting opportunity has arisen in Bristol to work as part of the existing TIA Service which will operate at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI), Weston General Hospital and Southmead Hospital, with the role and majority of the activity based at the BRI.

The service will be expanding in 2023 and this role will support the increased service offer.

Additional working pattern details:
initial pattern Monday - Friday, moving to 7 day rota in future


Required start time:
7.00am.

This role requires you to have responsibility for coordinating a comprehensive and efficient TIA clinic service.

This will include booking patients into clinic, arranging tests as requested by the clinician, and data upload onto the Trust's Patient Administration System (PAS).


You will be required to have a professional and mature working attitude and have patient care as your primary concern.


Essential skills and abilities:


  • Clerical / administrative experience
  • Effective and polite manner when dealing with people, both face to face and on the phone
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
  • Ability to work on your own, using your own initiative, if required
  • Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Attention to detail
