Job Title:
Premises Officer (Temporary to Permanent)


Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Premises Officer to join our secondary school on a full-time basis.

As a Premises Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the school premises.

Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the security, cleanliness, and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent employment based on performance.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by implementing and enforcing security protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Coordinate and oversee the cleaning and maintenance activities, ensuring that the premises are kept clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain the school's heating, ventilation, and lighting systems to ensure they are functioning efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies necessary for the smooth operation of the premises.
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may occur on the premises, taking appropriate action and reporting incidents as required.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for repairs, maintenance, and other services as needed.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for school events and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and carry out risk assessments regularly.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and contribute to the overall positive school environment.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a similar premises or facilities management role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair work.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events or emergencies.

Salary:
£14.00-£18.00 per hour
