Description

Carry out weekly fire alarm testing, including recording of all results and reporting any defects to the system in a timely manner.


Routine maintenance of ventilation equipment, including:

replacement of filters, cleaning of internal ductwork and ventilation chambers, cleaning of louvres and ventilation grilles in wards and departments.

Recording and reporting of water temperatures, flushing of dead legs and little used outlets and cleaning of water fixtures and fittings (shower heads).

Carry out repairs to plumbing systems, not integral to the supply of water, such as replacement of fixtures (WC seats).

Assembly of flat-pack style equipment and furniture. Minor repairs to equipment, fixtures and furniture. Recording of meter readings and engineering data. Assisting and accompanying contractors in the undertaking of their duties.

To be responsible for tools, plant and materials which are used within the scope of the Estates Department. To keep line management informed of matters affecting the delivery of the service and to make recommendations on improvement.
