Main duties of the job:
The post-holder will support the assessment and management of the research pathway for patients participating in clinical trials. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data.
You will work with the clinical trials team (s) and the wider multi-disciplinary team(s) in the management of clinical trials patients.
The post holder may be expected to work flexibly across other clinical specialties within the Trust.Working for our organisation:

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include performing observations, assisting in identifying and recruiting participants to clinical trials, managing sample collection including phlebotomy and processing of clinical trial samples, creation and maintenance of files for clinical trials, assisting in clinical trial data entry and maintenance of databases of trial activity.

Education and professional qualifications:
Essential criteria:
- Knowledge of nursing procedures and practices; acquired, NVQ4 or NVQ
- Training towards higher diploma/degree level, or equivalent through courses, experience.

- Experience of formal/ informal teaching of patients and staff
- Experience of acting as a patient advocate
- Clinical research experience
- Experience of phlebotomy and cannulation or willingness to obtain

- Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
