Description

Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust requires a highly motivated, reliable and flexible Cashier to work as a key member of the Finance Team.

You will have extensive knowledge of Healthcare infrastructure services and suitable experience of working within a Hospital environment.


Location:
Churchill - may be required to cover other sites


The individual will be based in one or more of our Oxford cashiers' offices and will carry out the duties of cash collection, safekeeping and banking arrangements.

Additionally, responsibility for cash reimbursements to patients and staff, in accordance with the Trust procedures, under the general supervision of the Trust's Senior Cashier.


Experience of working in a financial environment is essential, as is excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels in a friendly and helpful manner.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To carry out the duties of cash collection, safekeeping, and banking arrangements.

Additionally, responsibility for cash reimbursements to patients and staff, in accordance with the Trust procedures, under the general supervision of the Trust's Head Cashier.

(The post holder will be based at one hospital site but will be expected to provide cover for other sites, if required.)

RESPONSIBILITIES
Cash reimbursement

  • Patients' travel expenses paid according to the Department of Health, Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme for patients on low income
  • Petty cash expenditure
  • Departmental floats

Cash Collection(monies paid to Cashier's office direct):

  • Cash from car parking machines, and vending machines
  • Cash, cheque, and card payments received directly from departments and customers
  • Incoming invoice payments via mail
  • Cash and cheques paid into the Trusts' Charitable Funds
  • All cash/cheques to be counted, reconciled, receipted, and banked ready for collection
Banking

  • Of both Revenue and Charitable Funds income, weekly (collected by Securicor)
Safe-Keeping

  • Cash until banked
Accountable Stationery

  • Control and issue of accountable stationery
Any other duties as may be required.
