12 month FTC - Rent & Service Charge Project Lead


A registered housing association and care provider in Yorkshire and the North East of England have recently carried out reviews which has led to a project to implement the changes which include system migration.


What you will be doing...

Rent and Service Charge Calculation:


  • Oversee the calculation and review of rent and service charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline calculation processes and improve efficiency.

Process Improvement:


  • Evaluate existing rent and service charge processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Stakeholder Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with internal teams such as finance, asset management, housing, project and IT to gather requirements and implement changes.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders including tenants, regulatory bodies, and service providers to address concerns and ensure compliance.

Reporting and Analysis:


  • Prepare regular reports on rent and service charge performance, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct analysis to identify root causes of issues and develop recommendations for corrective actions.

Regulatory Compliance:


  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, legislation, and best practices related to rent and service charges.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement changes as necessary to meet standards.

Project Management:


  • Lead and manage projects related to rent and service charges, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure milestones are met.

What you need to offer:


  • Have detailed understanding, experience and knowledge of financial service charge legislation and regulation
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders including tenants.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective problemsolving skills
  • Flexible approach to work as part of a team and/or across a business as the lead representative of a team/department.

Desirable

  • Experience in project management, preferably in a housing association or property management context.
