Disability Energy and Utility Support Team Leader


Job description

We are looking for a Team Leader with significant experience in managing or supporting a team with an up-to-date knowledge of any energy sector developments.


Fixed term until the end of March 2026.**
35 hours per week.

  • The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

  • Support the successful delivery of our disability energy and utilities support helplines.
  • Be responsible for managing a team of Advisers, ensuring individuals are performing against targets, whilst regularly reviewing their performance and coaching them to do so.
  • Ensure that the service gives 100% accurate advice and information, to organise, and deliver when required, training and implementing quality control.

About you

You:

  • Have strong understanding of energy advice and customer support are a must to facilitate support for disabled households struggling with their energy and utility bills. The helplines will help them through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty.
  • Bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.
  • Have exceptional organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate services and motivate a team to deliver KPI's. Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and be able to put together reports on how the service is performing for both internal stakeholders and funders of the services. You will then use resilience and adaptability to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Engage in resource planning process' to ensure that your team members receive regular training and coaching. If you do not already have the qualification, you will be trained to a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness. You will then work with our content team and partners to create the scripts and content needed to support customers.
  • Have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products and are confident user of digital technology demonstrating a positive approach to the adoption of innovative products and tools.
