At NCC we are fiercely ambitious for the people of Norfolk and strive to be one of the best performing counties in the country.
And we're looking for a Strategic Planning Lead to join our team and help us plan for some of our most complex challenges.
This key role sits within the Council's Strategy & Policy Team, which is responsible for corporate strategy, policy, planning, and strategic engagement.
We work collaboratively with senior leaders and departments to support the design, planning and delivery of their strategies, while providing information, insights and intelligence on the external landscape to inform decision making.
We are a team with a broad remit and involvement across the organisation as well as our local system, and one that aims to increase Norfolk's influence on the national agenda, to deliver positive outcomes for our residents, businesses and communities.
So, what's the job?
Working with the Head of Strategy & Policy, the Organisational Performance Lead and managers across different departments, you will manage and deliver a highly effective business planning process which results in joined-up outcomes and focused business plans across the council.
You will also work with colleagues on strategic foresight as a driver and shaper of strategy and planning, enabling senior leaders to make future-informed decisions on matters that affect the council.
This is a key and strategic role, where you will be providing professional expertise and information to support the development of plans which are aligned to strategy and contribute to its delivery.
So you will be a strong and resilient communicator and influencer, with the ability to bring people along with you.
We know we're asking for a lot, and in return we think we have a lot to offer. There's the role itself, where you will play a key part in establishing our strategies and plans. There's our ways of working, where we put work life balance at the forefront and offer flexible, hybrid working arrangements, all underpinned by first class technology.
And then there's our County. We're open to people working from home for a significant portion of the time, but if you're already in (or are considering relocating to) Norfolk, we think our unique blend of cities, market towns, coastal communities, beaches, broads, countryside, culture and cuisine are all hard to beat
If you're still reading, and you think you have what it takes, then we would love to hear from you.
We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people.
