We are looking for legal professionals to join our Belfast team where you will work on a variety of projects supporting our Investment Banking clients.

About the role
The scope and nature of the projects on which you'll work will vary according to your particular skill set & experience, however, examples of duties/responsibilities include:

  • Working on projects for top tier investment banking clients, developing your skillset through our training programmes along with on-the-job experience to become a Subject Matter Expert within areas of Investment Banking
  • Negotiate and review legal agreements with internal and external clients
  • Engage with Legal teams within the bank across multiple geographies
  • Communicate with clients via telephone and electronic avenues for negotiations
  • Work primarily with ISDAs, but also with other legal documentation around Margin Rules, IBOR and Brexit
  • Ensure the bank complies with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that the correct controls and processes are in place in order to mitigate risk within the business
  • Manage large volumes of data using relevant data management software
  • Other responsibilities that fall under the remit of the role

Who are we looking for?
Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong educational background
  • Degree (Master would be an advantage)
  • 4+ years Legal experience ideally within a banking environment
  • Experience in legal negotiation, in particular ISDAs, Master Agreements
  • Strong communication skills, confident communicating with clients and stakeholders

  • Able to understand, analyze and manage large amounts of data
  • Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
