Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has locum roles for Internet Project Support Officer to work at Islington Council.

The pay rate for this Project manager role is Per day.


Key responsibilities

  • As a key member of the new intranet project delivery group, the postholder will support the decommissioning process of the council's current intranet, alongside the planning and rollout of the new, modern intranet.
  • The postholder will liaise with teams from across the whole council to ensure that the SharePoint 2010 intranet content is successfully migrated onto the SharePoint Online environment.
  • The postholder will support the intranet project delivery group, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the project is delivered on schedule and to a high standard.
- support the delivery of the new intranet project
- work with internal and external stakeholders to agree a schedule for key phases of the project in line with deadlines
- maintain high-quality project management documentation, including highlight reports, project plans, financial projections, risk logs with tracked mitigation, and ongoing senior user engagement at all project boards
- contribute to the documentary requirements of the project for training, systems and any other manuals, guides or procedures
- support intranet content publishers, colleagues from services and intranet working group
- listen and assist with the review and migration of intranet content
- liaise with relevant teams to ensure system security standards are maintained and support the council's obligations in terms of data security and the General Data Protection Regulations
- liaise with the internal intranet working group, external suppliers and Islington Digital Services to ensure key phases of the project are delivered to a high-quality, and in line with project deadlines.
- build and maintain constructive working relationships with the intranet working groups, services, content publishers and external suppliers
- provide monitoring information and escalate issues and risks
- provide admin and practical support for the planning and delivery of staff engagement activities and communication about the project


Key accountabilities
to help develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with the new intranet working group, managers across the council, content publishers, and external stakeholders, in order to ensure successful project delivery

to regularly provide project support to intranet working group

to ensure that relevant partners are included in project planning and delivery

to proactively manage and contribute to the forward planning process and project coordination

to undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post

  • To use and assist others in the use of information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed by the line manager.
  • To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
  • The post holder is expected to be committed to the council's core values of public service, quality, equality and empowerment and to demonstrate this commitment in the way they carry out their duties.
  • Ensure all the services within the area(s) of responsibility are provided in accordance with the council's commitment to high quality service provision to users.
  • Ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance with the Data Protection Act, the Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity and other legislation.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the council's Health and Safety Policy and relevant health and safety legislation.
