Working days/ times: 5 days out of 7. Hours between 9am and 8pm. Rota's supplied 4 weeks in advance

Position Summary


This position is to support the achieving of financial targets and KPI's set for the superstore and to support the stores management in their duties.


The aim of the Retail Supervisor is to support the day-to-day operations of the superstore and maintain the overall standards, including the coordination and supervision of staff and volunteers so that they work together to achieve company targets.


Main Responsibilities

  • To support the stores management in achieving agreed sales targets, profits and budgets.
  • To support specific retail initiatives and undertake any related training to maximise income generation through trading activities.
  • To support, train and develop staff and volunteers, whilst having the operational responsibility of managing staff on a day to day basis.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • In the absence of the stores management to ensure the organisations cashing up and banking procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • In the absence of the stores management, to be responsible for the security of the store both during and after trading hours and to be a nominated key holder for the premise.

Duties

  • Achieve the level of computer competency as required for the role.
  • Participate in and contribute to the organisation's activities, events and meetings.
  • Undertake other duties which may be required by the organisation that are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the role.

Training
The organisation is committed to support continuous professional development (CPD).

There is an expectation that the post holder will complete mandatory and role specific training within the probationary period and maintain a level of competence throughout their employment with us.

Training includes Safeguarding, GDPR and Health and Safety. This list is not exhaustive.


Essential Skills and Attributes

  • This role requires a basic disclosure and barring service check.
  • Two years' experience of working in a retail environment with some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Commercial acumen, an ability to ensure operational stability and growth.
  • To demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
  • To demonstrate professionalism, whilst having a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
