Description

The role of the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation/Electroconvulsive Therapy Practitioner is integrated within the newly established Nottingham Neuromodulation Unit at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The post holder will work alongside the a diverse MDT to deliver treatment and develop the service to be a centre of excellence.

Open to all registered nurses and AHPs.


The post is a 9 months fixed term contract initially following a successful research trial which examined the efficacy, mechanism of action and patient acceptability of connectivity (neuroimaging) guided, intermittent theta-burst Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (cgiTBS) in comparison with standard rTMS, in treatment resistant moderate to severe depression.

Subject to a successful business case evidencing treatment efficacy and patient experience further funding for a permanent service may be made available.

The service is part of the Adult Mental Health directorate of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, but will deliver treatment to all service users of the Trust for whom these interventions are the appropriate clinical treatment option


Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust deliver mental health services to all individuals requiring the involvement of secondary mental health services across Nottinghamshire in a variety of community and inpatient settings.
