What are we looking for?


We're seeking conscientious and committed team players to join us in delivering a safe, secure and punctual Heathrow operation for Engineering Operational Maintenance, based in Terminal 5.

You might be just starting out or some years into your career, most importantly you're proactive, curious, collaborative, passionate about the safety, security and punctuality of our operation.


The role:


The TMC Assistant will be required to work across all disciplines to ensure areas can maintain focus on delivering corporate operational performance.

As the Engineering focal for other departments including Operations, Terminal Controllers, TRMs, Cargo, AOMs, Aircraft movements, PSU, Catering and TSU, the delivery of accurate engineering information and decision making is critical and could impact other departments and the safety and punctual departures of the BA schedule.

An exciting opportunity is available to join British Airways Engineering Operational Maintenance as a TMC Team Administrator.


The purpose of this role is to support Operational Maintenance, Planning, Terminal Maintenance Control and all Engineering Satellites with a variety of administrative duties to assist in the functioning of the department.

The post holder will be expected to work cohesively with internal areas of Engineering and external stakeholders to ensure front line areas can maintain focus on delivering corporate operational performance.

What you'll do:


  • Producing the Longhaul tow plan, influencing the stand plan and amending the plan when requirements cannot be met.
  • Administrative duties which should be undertaken using initiative (or as directed when necessary) including the
  • Collation, analysis and interpretation of various forms of information and data
  • Producing data for the Engineering Leadership Team.
  • Regular report production and presentation.
  • Inputting engineering remarks in FICO.
  • Critical OPDEF report, deciding which defects have an immediate bearing on Corporate Operational Performance.
  • Compilation of data and statistics, which may be from internal or external sources and transferring to local systems as required.
  • Input to and updating of company systems and processes.
  • Organising, managing and participating in a range of departmental activities, maintaining use of initiative when appropriate. These activities include, but are not limited to training, development and project work, which can be related to any part of the wider organisation as necessary.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels across all departments.
  • Welldeveloped analytical and people skills.
  • Selfmotivated with ability to work and make decisions using own initiative and as part of a wider team.
  • Proficient in the use of LAN and mainframe computer systems and software i.e. Word and Excel and specialist systems i.e. SAP Gate Manager and Air Ops.
  • Highly developed sense of Customer Service, displaying drive, commitment, urgency and strong resilience in a highpressure environment.
  • Interpersonal skills that suit a dynamic and operational environment and works well under pressure.
