Description

The Estates & Facilities Division provides a wide range of operational estates repair / maintenance, minor works and capital project services across the Trust's sites.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Assistant ideally with a trade background or similar to assist both our Directly Employed Labour (DEL) workforce trade operatives and external contractors in the maintenance and repair of the Trust's built environment.

This is a permanent position for 37.5 hours per week and the standard working hours are Monday

  • Friday 8am
  • 4pm. In order to fulfil the needs of this post, the post holder may be required to work overtime as required by the needs of the service and it may also be necessary to return to work at short notice to cover such emergencies as may develop outside normal working hours.


The post holder will be responsible for the basic maintenance and repair of electrical and/or mechanical equipment, site facilities and building fabric.

The post holder will have an awareness of current working practices in an engineering and building environment.

No formal qualifications are required, however experience in building maintenance or electrical / mechanical maintenance would be an advantage.


Any experience or other suitable training such as CSCS card holder or legionella awareness, to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for clients, visitors and staff will also be an advantage.

Willing to undertake further training to enhance and develop your skills and knowledge.
