Job summary:
It's an exciting time to join our Commercial Contract Management Team, as we're strengthening our team by introducing additional roles to manage contracts and supplier relationships.
Our Commercial Contract Management Function provides commercial leadership, advice and support to Business Contract Owners, helping them ensure the supplier contract and relationship management is delivered effectively.
Commercial Delivery manage the first stages of the commercial life cycle from end user requirements through to market tender (and retender), and contracting with our selected suppliers.
The Commercial Contract Management Team team takes up the second part of the life cycle and manage contract implementation, in life contract management, contract changes, disputes, exit and everything else in between.
Both teams are assisted by the Governance and Assurance Team, who ensure Companies House acts within Commercial Policy and Regulations.

This role will contribute to delivering our commercial contract management strategy, providing a customer focused support service, understanding the business needs and stakeholder drivers with the aim of becoming a trusted central Commercial Contract Management team.
You'll support rolling out Government Contract Management standards and processes, ensuring contracts are managed proportionately according to value, complexity and risk and that supplier performance is appropriately measured and reported.
The Commercial Contract Management Function at Companies House is lead by the Head of Commercial Contract Management.The team is then further split into key major categories - Digital & Technology (IT) and Corporate Services (Non IT).
We currently have two Contract Management Leads for D&T agreements, and one supporting Corporate Services type agreements.
As an D&T Contract Management Specialist, you will report directly into one of our D&T Contract Management Leads, working to support them and the Business Contract Owners in the direct commercial management of supplier relationships.
Job description:
The key responsibilities will be to support the Contract Management Lead with the contract management of their assigned agreements. Day to day activities will include;
- Supporting the Contract Management Lead to manage selected contracts and supplier relationships, including ensuring administrative tasks are completed on time.
- Standing in for the Contract Management Lead at time of absence, and ensuring continuity of Contract Management Support to suppliers and Business Contract Owners
- Leading smaller supplier relationships directly, ensuring Contract Management plans are completed, supplier governance is established, and the supplier is reporting their current performance on a regular basis.
- Lead Contract Change Notices for assigned agreements, including managing through the governance cycles for any changes over given governance limits
- Managing supplier due diligence information, ensuring it is upto date and valid and acted upon if required
- Working on assigned actions in support of the Commercial Improvement plan, helping the overall function to develop
- Providing support, advice and guidance for Business Contract Owners and the wider organisation on contract management for your assigned contracts, role modelling our positive behaviours and values, communicating key messages and providing a voice for the commercial profession
- Supporting the Implementation of newly procured contracts, working closely with the Contract Management Lead, Business Contract Owners and Project management resources as required.
- Support and attend supplier performance monitoring through ongoing supplier performance reviews
- Supporting the wider commercial team and organisation with supplier management input, before and during procurement activity including preparing for contract management / mobilization / exit / transition from the outset
