We are in search of a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who loves interacting with people. Previous experience in school photography is a bonus, but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided. This is a permanent position during school terms to join our friendly team in Oxford.


H Tempest Ltd, the largest school photography company in the country, has a team of over 500 dedicated employees. Our headquarters and lab are located in St Ives, Cornwall, while our Photographers are spread across the UK.


Our photo assignments range from capturing moments at playgroups, nurseries, primary and secondary schools, universities, colleges, the Armed Forces, to Corporate Photography.

We provide comprehensive support to our Photographers to enhance their skills and capture exceptional photos. To excel in this role, you will need to:

  • Offer top-notch customer service to clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while enjoying meeting new people
  • Bring smiles to everyone's faces, from little ones to adults
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, a friendly demeanor, and professional conduct
  • Be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Be flexible with your working hours, as early starts are occasionally necessary, especially during the autumn term
  • While prior school photography experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement
  • Be open to travel and possess at least twelve months of driving experience with a valid license
  • Be willing to undergo a DBS check and provide two referees before commencing employment

As a Photographer with us, you will enjoy the following perks:

  • Term-time Flexibility: Enjoy school breaks, weekends, and quieter periods during the academic year when photography demands are low or non-existent

Monthly Starting Salary: £700, paid monthly, with additional earnings from photo sales commissions. Any surplus from the commissions over your annual salary will be compensated. You also have the opportunity to earn extra income during slower periods with our university graduation team

Company Vehicle: Potential provision of a taxed, insured, and maintained company vehicle will be discussed during the interview

Equipment: All necessary photographic equipment will be provided

Expense Reimbursement: Reimbursement for all authorized business-related expenses

Pension Scheme: You will be automatically enrolled in the Pension scheme after 3 months of service (though you can choose to opt-in earlier). Life cover becomes available on August 1st following one year of service

Professional Development: Comprehensive training at the beginning of your employment and ongoing support and training thereafter. This includes Health & Safety and Manual Handling. You will receive top-notch, field-based training to excel in your role
