Description

If you have a compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others, you could be just what we're looking for.

As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse.

You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help.

You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge, we're just here to help.

There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.

Shropshire Council is implementing an innovative multi-disciplinary team in partnership with Shropshire Recovery Partnership (We Are With You), the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT), Connexus, The Shrewsbury Ark and Intuitive Thinking Skills, funded through the Rough Sleepers Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant provided by the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

The Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Team (RSDAT) will support the county in meeting the intended outcomes of the national drug strategy by helping to reduce drug-related deaths, reducing alcohol-related hospital admissions and increasing the number of successful individuals in treatment.

The multi-agency MDT will provide holistic wrap-around support and drug and alcohol treatment for rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping across the county.

Assistance will be tailored to the needs of each individual and will provide support addressing physical health, mental health, substance abuse, family connections, as well as work to develop a pathway into accommodation.
