About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Education Welfare Service as an Apprentice Education Welfare Assistant, you will be predominantly administering and effectively assisting in the discharge of the Local Authority's statutory functions relating to school attendance, child employment and entertainment, children missing education.

This role would suit someone with strong administrative skills with some relevant experience of working in an administrative role, and with a keen interest in the work of the council.

You will need to be enthusiastic, committed to the values of education and be able to organise your work efficiently and effectively.

As part of the Apprentice Education Welfare Assistant role, you will be supported to undertake and achieve a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification as Business Administrator Level 3.

The apprenticeship will be fully funded by the council, and you will be given time off for study as required for the duration of the apprenticeship which is typically 18 months depending on any previous qualifications achieved.
